- May 9th. 7.45-9.45pm. £4/£3. GRV, Guthrie Street. Poetry at the GRV. Hosted by Rob A. Mackenzie. This month, readings from Don Paterson, Cheryl Follon, Christie Williamson, with a mini-set by Alison Flett Sutherland.
- May 19th. At Mono, Glasgow. Meursault live.
- May 21st. 7.30pm. £10.00. Fence Collective Night. King Creosote’s Kenny Anderson is back in an acoustic format. PLUS, Withered Hand, the solo work of Mr Dan Wilson (formerly of cult indie drop-outs Barrichello and Peanut). And Rozi Plain creates beautifully intimate music that captures life slowly floating by.
- May 21st. Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh. Meursault will be playing at This Is Music.
- May 23rd. 8.30-11.15pm. £4/£3. Jazz Bar, Chambers St. Is this Poetry? hosted by Jenny Lindsay. Live poetry cabaret featuring Young Dawkins, Kevin Cadwallender, Robin Cairns & poetry/music from Horsebreaker. Open mic slots available.
- May 26th. 8pm. FREE. The Roxy, Edinburgh. Roxy Readings. New and emerging writers share their work. Open mic slots available.
- BRAND NEW! Did you Glasgow folk make your way to the first ever Words per Minute? Words per Minute is Glasgow’s brand new monthly spoken word, music, film and performance night run by writer-performers Anneliese Mackintosh and Kirstin Innes. Next one is: June 6th, 4-6pm (Plus Miaoux Miaoux DJ set 6-7pm). £2. Creation Studios, 16 Trongate, Glasgow. With performers: Sophie Cooke, Craig Lamont, Adam Stafford, and more tbc.
