Excerpt:

It’s our final thrall in Montreal and tonight we are drinking gin and 7, which we mix up into the 7up bottles before hitting the street. Tim is walking like a Bee Gee, I’m walking like Dustin Hoffman in Midnight Cowboy, Jane is walking like Nancy (Spungen not Sinatra). We’re going to find action. We hop in and out of beer halls, knock back shorts of gold, grab some pizza. Tim says he’s smoked too much and leaves his cigarettes at the hostel. Tim is now chain-smoking bummed cigarettes. Tim is now doing a handstand up against a tree. Tim is now crashing onto his head. We figure the pink quarter has to offer up something but tonight it’s bereft. As we continue along I spy a boarded-up shop. I find a way in and Tim follows me and Jane follows Tim.
